Would you like to learn more about what the Evangelical Lutheran Church, of which Bethel is a part, has taught throughout the centuries?  Then take a glance (or more than a glance) at

The Book of Concord

The Book of Concord includes confessions of faith stretching back to the first centuries of the Christian Church (Apostles, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds) and confessions made during the time of the Reformation (Augsburg Confession, the Apology, Luther's two Catechisms, the Smalcald Articles, and the Formula of Concord).  Lutheran pastors and congregations (like Bethel) subscribe to these confessions of faith because, not in so far as, they correctly explain the Holy Scriptures.

Confessions of faith like these do not replace Scripture, nor are they on the same level as Scripture.  The Bible (Old and New Testaments) remains the sole rule, norm, and judge of all doctrine.
